Leonardslee Gardens in Surrey

I was fortunate enough to gain access to these amazing gardens in late May, just as the flowers were in full bloom.  I put together a team, the model was Shannon, whom I've worked with loads and I knew she would be awesome.  Helena brought along some fabulous headpieces and Laura Smith was my MUA ( links to their sites below ).  For the images I used a Sony A7R3 and 85mm 1.4 lens, pretty much exclusively, I don't think I shot with anything else apart from in the pump house ( 16-35 there ) and it was awesome!  I used a Godox AD200 for lighting, as we had some pretty harsh sunlight to deal with ( we were shooting in the middle of the day.  Thankfully there were plenty of shady spots for us to use.  Here are some of the images.

This was taken in the pump house, and for this shot I used the 16-35 to 2.8 to create some wide angle fashion drama.

We used fairly direct flash to create some drama here.

I wanted all the colours to form a painterly backdrop and the 85 1.4 is perfect for this.

The gardens are due to open in January 2019.   If you want to catch the Rhododendrons then the best time seems to be late May, early June.  I'm hoping to be invited back there to shoot the inside of the house once it's all done.
